Reduce, Reuse, Retweet

Welcome to another glorious Freebie Friday, when we give away cool free stuff just because we can.

This week we’re doing our bit for the environment (the social media environment) and giving away two of these stunning Reduce, Reuse, Retweet Geek Gear tees that illustrate the importance of not only recycling physical goods, but information too.

As per usual, winners are randomly selected from our twitter followers and facebook friends who have engaged with us at some point during the year.

Who wants Freebies?

Let’s face it, although Social Media is incredibly useful, it can be a source of much distraction – especially at this time of the year. You’re planning parties, attending parties, untagging those incriminating photos of yourself from parties – plenty of stuff to keep you busy and doesn’t constitute real work.

This #FreebieFriday we’re injecting a little social media humour with our ironically themed social notworking Geek Gear t-shirt.

Winners are selected randomly – so if you’re one of our twitter followers or Facebook Fans, or simply just said “hi” – you could be surprised with a #FreebieFriday prize.

UWC Students visit RSAWEB

Earlier this week, we were visited by two students from the University of the Western Cape, who are currently studying towards a Bcom degree with a major in Information Systems. Cynthia Kanyenze and Tejas Gihwala are part of the UWC Job Shadow programme which RSAWEB actively participates in.

The students had the opportunity to meet 3 of our key personnel members – Jason von Berg (Technical Operations Manager), Vernon Naidoo (Network Operations Engineer) and Ayesha Bagus (HR Manager), who explained the ins and outs of their respective positions.

Tejas noted, “I’m interested in pursuing a career in Business Analysis and Business Information Systems Consulting (ERPs), and found the presentations from Vernon the most interesting as we have a mutual interest in networking, network cabling and the mechanics thereof. Jason’s talk was also very informative, as he covered quite a bit on how networks work, systems analysis and business analysis. He used a lot of technical jargon, but once he’d fully explained it to us, I think we were all on the same page.”

” The environment at RSAWEB is superb, the people were very welcoming , and I particularly enjoyed the presentations from Jason and Vernon. My programming skills aren’t strong, but talking to them opened my eyes to a new path of Information Technology which I’d love to explore.  Although I was only at their offices for 4 hours, I have nothing but praise for them – They really made an effort to welcome us,” commented Cynthia.
