Celebrating Everyday Heroes this Mandela Day
In the spirit of Mandela Day, RSAWEB is celebrating Everyday Heroes. Like the incredible people who save lives each day with the awesome work they do at the Haven Night Shelter. Our staff will be spending their 67 minutes of service by preparing and serving lunch at the Haven Night Shelter. The shelter helps those that have ended up on the street with meals and safe accommodation.
Calling all Everyday Heroes this Mandela Day
We’re calling on our customers to help out by donating some much needed necessities, which we will be taking to the shelter on Mandela Day. You can drop these items off at our offices – 4th floor, Point Building, 76 Regent Road, Sea Point – before Monday 16 July.
What we’re collecting:
- Clean bedding and clothes
- Face cloths
- toothbrushes
- toothpaste
- soap
If you can’t make it to our office, you can also help out by donating directly to the Haven Night Shelter or purchasing a bed space for a week.
Another way to get involved is through Twitch, we’ve teamed up with Medic Nick. He’ll be doing a series of streams in the run up until Mandela Day and using the cash generated to purchase items from the list above. Follow him on twitter for updates on when to catch these streams.
