FTTB

  • What is the difference between FTTH & FTTB?

With an FTTB package you will receive a more premium service when compared to an FTTH package. You will be assigned an Account Manager who will serve as a point of contact for RSAWEB. Your traffic will be prioritized over the network which allows us to guarantee 95% up-time over these packages. Should you run into any technical difficulties you will receive priority from our Support Team to ensure you are connected as soon as possible.

  • Can I get an FTTH service for my business?

No, FTTH packages will be installed for a business. This is a stipulation enforced by the Fibre Network operators in your area. Only certain ISPs are able to provide a business grade Fibre service as they need to adhere to added service level agreements that come with a business-grade Fibre service and they need to have a capacity to provide adequate support for businesses. Should you try to order an FTTH package for your business it will eventually be blocked by the Fibre network operator you are trying to connect to.

  • When will I be installed?

Keep in mind that when you sign up for a Fibre service there are essentially 2 companies who will be responsible for delivering this service – the Fibre network operator and your ISP. Therefor we are dependent on timelines we receive from the Fibre network operators to have the infrastructure installed. If the relevant Fibre network is present, live and terminating in your office space, installations can be carried out within 7 business days.

  • Is this service shaped or throttled?

All business-grade Fibre services are unshaped, uncapped and will not be throttled for the duration of your service.

  •  Can I get an uncapped package?

Yes, all business-grade Fibre services are uncapped.

  • Is there a cancellation fee?

On month-to-month contracts there is a 12-month term whereby if your installation was covered by RSAWEB, you will need to reimburse RSAWEB for the installation that was covered on your behalf. Should you cancel after 12 months there will be no cancellation fees. A 12-month or 24-month contract will be upheld accordingly.

  • What Fibre speed should I choose?

This is relevant to your online needs and we have Account Managers who can assist you in determining what speeds/packages would best suit your business’s unique needs.

  •  How long is the contract term for this service?

We can offer month-to-month, 12-month and 24-month contracts applicable to each Fibre network operator.

  • What added services other than connectivity are available for my business?

RSAWEB’s niche is to provide businesses with solutions that help with the efficiency of their online processes. By leveraging the latest technology and software platforms we are able to provide the most cost-effective solution for your business. Anything your business needs to function online – we are able to assist with. Some of these services would include dedicated Fibre connectivity, VoIP, Firewall management services, Cloud Management systems, Mobile Data platforms, and MPLS solutions. Please get in touch with an Account Manager should you wish to explore more options in terms of creating online & internal efficiency for your business.

Fortigate

  • What is a firewall?

A firewall will monitor and control incoming and outgoing network traffic, blocking outsiders from gaining unauthorized access to the private data on your computer. Via a firewall, you are able to gain control over your network by adding predetermined restrictions for users.

  • How can I protect my network from external threats?

By using a firewall, your network will be protected from outside users trying to gain access.

  • Will the Firewall be managed or unmanaged?

We can manage this service for you. It is also possible to have full control of your own firewall if you would like the service to be unmanaged.

  • Can I create reports to monitor the activity on my network?

Yes, by using tools such as FortiAnalyzer you will be able to create detailed reports in regards to the activity over your network – providing further insight.

  • Why would I want a firewall?

A firewall is crucial to have in today’s world. Leaving your network exposed to viruses or cyber criminals these days opens your company and its data up to enormous risk which could prevent your business from trading overnight.

  • Does a firewall stop hackers?

Yes, a firewall can prevent hackers from gaining confidential information or abusing your network.

  • What type of internet connection is recommended for VoIP?

Ideally, you would want your VoIP service to run over a Fibre connection.

  • What if I move into a new office space?

All of our PBX solutions are cloud-based and no hardware other than the phones are deployed on-site. This allows you to seamlessly make use of this service wherever you have an internet connection, and you are not required to be fixed to the same office for the duration of this service.

Yes, you will be able to access the PBX through your smart phone. You will need to download an app for this.
