COVID-19 Disclaimer

RSAWEB and its telecommunications partners have been identified as an essential service provider and will be operational during the lockdown.
During the lockdown period and foreseeable future, all new and pending orders are being processed as normal however, we are not certain about installation dates.
At this point in time, only critical installations for business and services are likely to be prioritised.
We are working closely with the Fibre operators to come to a conclusion on this matter and will provide you with further information on this topic as soon as it is made available to us.

 

General Terms

All packages are for residential sign ups only. Businesses unfortunately cannot sign up for these packages.
We commit to keeping our coverage data as accurate as possible, but we are reliant on the maps that are given to us by the Fibre Network Operators which could result in slight inaccuracies at times
Installation fees and line rental fees are prescribed by the Fibre Network Operators (FNO). Pricing can change if mandated by the FNO, RSAWEB will always provide 1 (one) months’ notice to advise of any price changes.

Set-Up Fees

RSAWEB covers this fee on your behalf, if you cancel or are suspended due to non-payment this fee will be clawed back.

Cancellation Fees

If you cancel within 12 months of going live, you are liable to pay the R1 725 Installation fee. The installation fee does not apply if you already have a fibre line installed which is not damaged and still active, however the connection fee (R863,00) will still be applicable upon cancellation.

The router is free to use but remains the property of RSAWEB for the duration of your service. We fully insure your free-to-use router, so in the event of accidental damage or theft, we will replace it (T’s&C’s Apply). Should you cancel your services at any time, the router can be purchased from RSAWEB at the retail value at the time of cancellation or returned to RSAWEB in its original condition. Please include your name and RSAWEB customer code when returning your router. If we do not receive your router within the 10-day router-return period, you will be billed for it, and it will become your own. The router will no longer be insured by RSAWEB, and we will not accept responsibility for any damage or defaults. No router returns will be accepted any later than 10 days after your account was deactivated. All courier costs involved in returning the router are for your own account. You will be charged the original retail value of the router should you fail to comply. Please ensure that the LAN cable, power cable and anything else included in the router box is returned, as you can be billed for any missing items. RSAWEB routers are recycled, as part of our effort to reduce our carbon footprint, we refurbish our pre-owned routers. Rest assured that it has been cleaned, checked, and restored to “good as new” status.

One calendar month notice period is needed for the cancellation of your services. Please note you are responsible for cancelling your existing services such as ADSL or fibre with another provider (if applicable) when signing up with RSAWEB. All cancellations have to go to [email protected] in order to be processed. You will receive a cancellation form to complete accepting any relevant T’s and C’s, cancellations will be accepted upon completion of this process.

Moving Your Fibre Service

Moving home is treated as a cancellation as your ONT cannot be moved and is fixed to the premises. Should the next tenant take over your service, we will transfer the service at no cost to you. Contact [email protected] if this is the case. If you have been an RSAWEB client for less than your contract term and resume your service at your new home, you will not pay a cancellation fee and the remainder of your previous contract will be added to your new contract. If the provider considers moving an ONT box or fibre line for any reason as a re-installation, a fee of R1725 will be charged.

Shaping and Prioritisation

All RSAWEB Fibre to the home services are unthrottled and unshaped- there are no usage thresholds. Please note our speeds cannot be guaranteed as there are many factors that can impact the speed of our services. Fibre to the home is a best effort service. For 200Mbps or faster line speeds, an upgraded router is essential for peak WiFi speed, please also ensure that your devices are compatible with the speeds of your chosen package. If you already have an RSAWEB router in good condition you can return it and pay the difference to receive an upgraded router.

Referral Program

You can only refer up to 5 friends. You only receive your credit when your friends sign up and gets connected. The referral program is only applicable for Fibre to the Home Referrals

Written Off Clients Due to non-payment of Services

Clients who do not make payment with be notified that payment is due immediately. Failure to make payment will result in the Fibre to the Home services being suspended. Payment will still be payable during this time, but access to the internet will be denied. If no payment is still received, RSAWEB will hand your services over to the legal team. Once advised by the legal team if payment is not received, our Legal team will move to blacklist and your services will be written off. At this point all cancellation fees will be payable. If payment is then received and the services re-activated, it can take up to 2 (two) business weeks before the service is reactivated and a re-connection fee will be payable.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 
  • Can I upgrade, downgrade or cancel?

    Upgrades are effective within 3 days of receiving your upgrade request. 

    Downgrades are effective on the 1st of the new month (if you downgrade before the 20th, otherwise it will only be effective the next month).

    To Cancel – we need just one calendar month’s notice.

  • When will I start paying?

    You only pay once the installation to your home has been completed and you have received your free-to-use router.

  • When will I receive my router?

    If you need to get a new Fibre line installed, your router will only be delivered once we receive an installation confirmation from the Fibre provider. If you already have Fibre installed, your router will be dispatched at the time of your order.

  • Are your fibre packages shaped?

    No, all our Fibre packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled. There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

  • How long will it take for me to be connected?

    This will depend on the Fibre Network Operator(FNO) in your area. Turnaround times for your installation and activation differ according to the FNOOnce the line has been installed on your premises it can take up to 2 business days for the provider to activate your line. If your line is already activated, you’ll be connected shortly after you sign up. 

  • Is there a cancellation fee?

    Should you cancel your service (or fall into a suspended state for longer than 30 days) within the first 12 months of activation we will clawback any installation and/or connection fees which were subsidised by RSAWEB when you signed up 

    All our Fibre packages are month-to-month, so you only need to give one calendar month’s notice in order to cancel your service. 

    Free-to-Use Routers are exactly that – free to use for as long as you are with RSAWEB and using the relevant service. If you cancel your service you will be billed for your router, or you may return it to us in its original condition, in its original packaging. 

    • You will have 10 days from the time your service is deactivated (turned off at the end of your months’ notice) to return the router to our offices. 
    • We will send you a reminder on day 5 if we have not yet received your router. 
    • If we do not receive your router back from you within the 10-day router-return period, you will be billed for it, and it will become your own. 
    • Remember to include your name and RSAWEB customer code when returning your router. 
    • No router returns will be accepted after 10 days have elapsed from the time that your account was deactivated. 
    • All courier costs involved in returning the router are for your own account. 
    • You will be charged the original retail value of the router. 
    • When your router becomes your property it will no longer be insured by RSAWEB, and we will not accept responsibility for any damage or defaults to the router. 

     

  • What Fibre Speed Should I choose?

    10Mbps-40Mbps: Enjoy fast internet speeds. This is a good option is you are streaming movies, downloading media-rich data or if you need to do superhero speed downloads. These speeds are ideal for families who are quite active online. 

    50 Mbps- 1000MbpsThis is the crème de la crème of internet speeds. Providing you with an unbuffered, smooth and consistent experience. If high speeds are essential to you and your family or business, then we highly recommend you go for the higher speed options. This will allow for multiple persons to experience this speed at the same time. 

  • What if my area isn’t covered by Fibre to the Home (FTTH)
    We rely on our Fibre Network Operators to roll out fibre across South Africa. Whilst, not all areas are covered yet, new areas are being rolled out every week! Use the Coverage Tool, choose the Notify Me option and we will keep you informed of any updates. Alternatively, check out our ADSL or Mobile Broadband options.
  • Is this a contracted service?
    No, there is no minimum commitment required. Our FTTH services are month-to-month.
  • How long does the setup process take?
    The setup process depends on which open access fibre network you choose to use. They will let you know when you can expect your installation ( Timelines differ according to fibre provider).
